Stretch Goal Announcement! The Golden Dryad from Shire Post Mint
about 6 years ago – Mon, Mar 19, 2018 at 10:25:14 PM

It's Stretch Goal Time!

At just $9000, every backer who as pledged $40+ will receive a custom coin from my friends at Shire Post Mint at no additional cost!  I'm affectionately calling this coin "The Golden Dryad."  It will feature two of the beautiful Dryad Gaming Co. logos, designed by Chad Maupin at Big Bot Design.

Shire Post Mint is not only located in the same town as me, but they're the go-to company for fantasy coins.  They have officially licensed coins from Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Mistborn, and tons of other amazing series.  You might have even backed them here on Kickstarter.  I got to tour their workshop last friday, and let me tell you, these folks know what they're doing.  I've never seen so many huge, beautiful, and old machines.  Everything is done authentically, using traditional minting machines and processes.

I'm very excited about this stretch goal!  These coins are going to be perfect for role-playing games.  Not only do they add to the atmosphere of the game, but they are a perfect "d2" or 50/50 decision maker.  "Does that temperamental dragon decide to attack? lets flip The Golden Dryad."

Of course, none of The Golden Dryads have been made yet, but here's an example of Shire Post Mint's beautiful work:

Curious about the bafflers?
about 6 years ago – Fri, Mar 16, 2018 at 07:24:26 PM

I've had a few questions about the towers' bafflers, or surfaces on which the dice will tumble.  It's difficult to get accurate, or not weird looking pictures of the inside, but I did my best.  As you can see below, there are two slanted bafflers at the top of the tower, and a final surface which will eject the dice into the tray.  So that means the dice will hit at least three surfaces before landing.  Never worry about cheaters or bad rolls again!

Also, remember that you can see these updates and other good stuff on my instagram, facebook, and twitter

I knew I forgot something!

A picture of the pencil is now up for all to see!  So sorry I left it out initially!  It was (not my only) embarrassing mistake, but let's not dwell on the past!

OVER HALFWAY FUNDED!

Thank you so much to everybody who has supported me so far!  It means the world!
